Okuma OSP Alarm A 8569 - Magazine turn interlock

Magazine turn interlock

A magazine rotation command was given while the conditions that permit magazine rotation were not satisfied. The control refuses rotation to prevent collision between the magazine, sub arm, exchange arm, or tool loading hardware. The code identifies exactly which interlock condition is blocking rotation.

Common Causes

  • Sub arm not in the RS position (or not directed toward RS) on LB35II/LU45-MATC-Y machines
  • Tool extraction pin at the manual tool loading/unloading position not in clamp position
  • Tool ID data reading arm not retracted
  • Magazine pot not unclamped, no pot at the frontal change position, or exchange arm sitting in the EAMG position

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 9 = Sub arm is not in the position that allows magazine rotation; code 10 = Tool extraction pin at the manual tool loading/unloading position is not clamped; code 11 = Tool ID data reading arm is not retracted; code 12 = A magazine pot is not unclamped; code 13 = No magazine pot is present at the frontal change position; code 14 = Exchange arm is in the EAMG position
  2. 2Read the code on screen and branch on it.
  3. 3Code 9: move the sub arm to the RS position (or orient it toward RS); magazine rotation is only allowed in that state.
  4. 4Code 10: set the tool extraction pin at the magazine manual loading/unloading position to its clamp position.
  5. 5Code 11: retract the tool ID data reading arm fully before commanding magazine rotation.
  6. 6Code 12/13/14: unclamp the magazine pot, confirm a pot is indexed at the frontal change position, and move the exchange arm out of the EAMG position.
  7. 7If the indicated mechanism is physically in the correct state but the alarm remains, check the position confirmation switch/sensor for that mechanism and its wiring before contacting Okuma service.
