Okuma OSP Alarm A 1837 - Worktable overload

Worktable overload

The work table overload sensor activated and the 'Interlock/(Workpiece Push limit switch)' signal turned OFF, meaning the table or pushed workpiece exceeded its load limit. The machine stops to protect the table and workpiece.

Common Causes

  • Workpiece pushed too hard against the worktable or stop
  • Overload sensor activated by excessive cutting or clamping force
  • Workpiece push limit switch misadjusted or faulty
  • Mechanical interference driving the table past normal load

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Inspect the workpiece setup: check how the part is pushed against the table or stop and relieve any excessive pushing force or misalignment.
  2. 2Examine the workpiece push limit switch and the overload sensor for damage or misadjustment; confirm the switch actuates cleanly when the table is loaded and releases when unloaded.
  3. 3Follow the manual's measure: reset the alarm and manually move the spindle in the positive Z-axis direction to back the load off the table sensor.
  4. 4Re-approach the workpiece with reduced force or feed and confirm the overload sensor no longer trips during normal setup and cutting.
