Okuma OSP Alarm A 1857 - Intrusion interlock

Intrusion interlock

The robot/loader C-axis was prevented from entering the lathe because the entry interlock conditions were not satisfied. The code points to either the lathe door being closed or the robot OK signal not being present.

Common Causes

  • Lathe door still closed when the C-axis tried to enter
  • Robot OK signal missing due to robot not ready, PLC/interface issue, or wiring fault
  • Parameter No. 57 data not set correctly for the linked robot application
  • Lathe not in robot-linked mode, ZB not at the plus software limit, spindle still rotating, or machine lock active

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 1 = Entry was inhibited because the lathe door was closed.; code 2 = Entry was inhibited because the robot OK signal was not being output.
  2. 2Keep personnel out of the robot/loader envelope and use lockout before entering; then read the code: Code 1 means the lathe door is closed, Code 2 means the robot OK signal is absent.
  3. 3For Code 1, open the lathe door fully and confirm the door-open input changes before commanding C-axis entry again.
  4. 4For Code 2, verify the robot is ready and the robot OK output is on at the interface; check the signal cable, connector, and input LED before suspecting the NC.
  5. 5Confirm the machine is in the mode for linked operation with the robot and that parameter No. 57 contains the proper data for that application.
  6. 6Move the lathe Z/ZB axis to the plus software limit, stop the spindle completely, and cancel machine lock before retrying entry.
  7. 7If the interlock still trips after door, robot OK, mode, ZB position, spindle stop, and machine lock are correct, record the code and contact Okuma service.
