Okuma OSP Alarm B 2060 - Fan motor error on panel computer unit

Fan motor error on panel computer unit

The control has detected that the cooling fan on the panel computer unit is spinning outside its normal speed range, meaning the fan is stalled, dragging, or failed. If left running, the panel computer can overheat and shut down or be damaged.

Common Causes

  • Failed or worn cooling fan motor on the panel computer unit
  • Fan blades obstructed by dust, chips, or debris causing low RPM
  • Fan power connector loose or wiring damaged

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 10101 = The faulty fan is the CPU cooling fan on the panel computer unit
  2. 2Read the code on screen: code 10101 identifies the CPU fan as the offender.
  3. 3Turn off the power supply to the operation panel before touching anything inside it.
  4. 4Open the panel and check the fan for dust buildup or obstructions; clean it and see if it spins freely by hand.
  5. 5Check the fan's power connector and wiring for looseness or damage.
  6. 6If the fan still does not run at proper speed, replace the cooling fan motor as the manual directs, then power up and confirm the alarm clears.
