Okuma OSP Alarm A 1862 - Canceling stroke end limit

Canceling stroke end limit

A mode other than manual was selected while the loader axis emergency limit release switch was still in the OFF (release) position. The control prevents automatic operation while the stroke end limits are canceled, since overtravel protection is disabled.

Common Causes

  • Operator left the loader axis emergency limit release switch in the OFF position after recovering from an overtravel
  • Mode selector changed to MDI or AUTO before restoring the limit release switch

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Return the loader axis emergency limit release switch to its normal (ON) position.
  2. 2Jog the loader axis back inside its normal stroke in manual mode if it is still sitting on the emergency limit.
  3. 3Confirm the axis is clear of the limit and the limit release switch is restored, then select the desired automatic mode and restart.
  4. 4If the alarm persists with the switch restored, check the limit release switch itself and its wiring for a stuck OFF signal.
