Okuma OSP Alarm A 1860 - Axis interlock

Axis interlock

A Z- or Y-axis move was commanded in MDI or program mode while that axis was interlocked, or a loader axis tried to move outside the envelope allowed by the current hand/swing positions. The interlock signal for the axis is off, so the control refuses the motion.

Common Causes

  • Z- or Y-axis interlock signal off while a move was commanded
  • Loader commanded into a hand A/B position area without being at the required hand position
  • Z-axis move commanded outside the range set in loader parameter No.42-No.45 for the SWING B condition

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 9 = Z-axis move attempted into the scope inhibited by the SWING B condition; code 11 = Loader entering hand A position area while not at loader hand A position; code 12 = Loader entering hand B position area while not at loader hand B position; code 13 = Loader entering hand B area while not at loader swing hand B position; code 14 = Y-axis move commanded while loader Z axis in NC lathe area and not at swing hand B position; code 15 = Z move conditions not satisfied: swing hand position, opposite hand unclamp, or Y plus software limit missing; code 16 = Z move commanded while Y axis and V axis on their limits
  2. 2Read the object field: 2 means the Y-axis was commanded, 3 means the Z-axis was commanded.
  3. 3Read the code for the loader-related causes: 9 means a Z move into the SWING B inhibited scope, 11-13 mean the loader tried to enter a hand A/B area without being at the required hand or swing-hand position, 14 means a Y move while the loader Z axis was in the NC lathe area without the swing hand B position, 15 means the Z move conditions (swing hand position, hand unclamp, Y on plus software limit) were not met, 16 means a Z move was commanded with Y and V on their limits.
  4. 4For codes 11-15, drive the loader to the required hand A or swing hand B position first, then retry the axis move.
  5. 5For code 9, check the Z-axis movement range set in loader parameter No.42 through No.45 against where the program is trying to go, and correct the program or the range.
  6. 6If the interlock signal itself never turns on when it should, check the interlock input wiring and the device (limit switch or position sensor) that drives it.
