Okuma OSP Alarm A 1830 - SP. oil air lub. oil level error

SP. oil air lub. oil level error

The oil level in the spindle oil-air lubrication tank dropped too low, with the low-level condition persisting for more than 3 seconds. Continued running without adequate oil-air lubricant risks spindle bearing damage.

Common Causes

  • Insufficient oil in the spindle oil-air lubrication unit tank
  • Faulty oil level sensor in the oil-air lubrication unit
  • Wiring/connector problem on the level sensor signal

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 1 = Main spindle oil-air lubricant low-level condition continued for more than 3 seconds.
  2. 2Stop spindle operation and check the oil level sight gauge on the spindle oil-air lubrication unit.
  3. 3Top up the oil-air lubrication unit with the specified spindle lubricant to the correct level.
  4. 4If the tank is full but the alarm remains, check the level sensor connector and wiring for looseness or damage.
  5. 5If the wiring is good and the level is correct but the low-level signal persists, replace the oil level sensor on the lubrication unit.
