Okuma OSP Alarm A 1470 - APA range XS-axis

APA range XS-axis

During synchronized operation the XS-axis actual position hit the soft-limit, or during learning operation the actual position ran outside the allowable band defined by the maximum/minimum position command values plus or minus the XS-axis system parameter No.6 setting. Code 1 means the position went past the positive limit; code 2 means it dropped below the negative limit.

Common Causes

  • The command issued in synchronization mode is too large for the XS-axis travel
  • Compensation data during learning operation exceeded the proper amount
  • Faulty position encoder giving wrong actual-position data

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 1 = Actual position exceeded the allowable range in the positive direction; code 2 = Actual position fell below the negative limit of the allowable range
  2. 2Read the code on screen: code 1 means the XS axis overran the positive allowable range, code 2 means it went below the negative limit.
  3. 3Review the cutting conditions so the synchronized command does not demand more XS-axis travel than the soft-limit allows.
  4. 4Check the learning operation monitoring parameter setting (XS AXIS LEARNING CONTROL PARAMETER No.6) and adjust it if the allowable band is set too tight for the compensation being applied.
  5. 5If the commanded and compensated values look correct but the actual position still runs away, check the XS-axis position encoder and its feedback cable for faults.
  6. 6If the alarm persists after these checks, record the alarm number, code and object and contact Okuma service.
