Okuma OSP Alarm A 1478 - Chuck coordinates mismatch
On a machine with the ACC (Auto Chuck Change) specification, the control detected that the chuck coordinate system being used does not match the chuck actually mounted at the cutting station. An axis move, coordinate system command, or system variable (origin offset/shift, chuck) instruction was executed under this mismatch, so the control stopped to prevent machining with the wrong chuck reference.

Okuma OSP Alarm A 1478 - Chuck coordinates mismatch
Chuck coordinates mismatch
On a machine with the ACC (Auto Chuck Change) specification, the control detected that the chuck coordinate system being used does not match the chuck actually mounted at the cutting station. An axis move, coordinate system command, or system variable (origin offset/shift, chuck) instruction was executed under this mismatch, so the control stopped to prevent machining with the wrong chuck reference.
Common Causes
Axis move commanded while the active chuck coordinate system belongs to a different chuck than the one at the cutting station (Code 1)
Coordinate system instruction executed that does not match the chuck at the cutting station (Code 2)
Origin offset, origin shift, or chuck system variable written while the chuck coordinate system and cutting station chuck disagree (Code 3)
Program error in the ACC chuck-change/coordinate selection sequence
Troubleshooting Steps
1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 1 = An axis move was commanded while the chuck coordinate system did not match the chuck at the cutting station.; code 2 = The executed coordinate system instruction did not match the chuck at the cutting station.; code 3 = An origin offset, origin shift, or chuck system variable instruction was executed while the chuck coordinate system and cutting station chuck did not match.
2Read the code and object on screen: object 01 = A-turret, 02 = B-turret; the code tells you which instruction type triggered the mismatch.
3Code 1: find the axis movement instruction in the program and confirm the correct chuck coordinate system was selected for the chuck currently at the cutting station before the move.
4Code 2: check the coordinate system instruction itself and correct it to match the chuck actually mounted at the cutting station.
5Code 3: locate the origin offset, origin shift, or chuck system variable instruction and verify it is executed only when the chuck coordinate system agrees with the cutting station chuck.
6Physically confirm which chuck is mounted at the cutting station and that the ACC chuck selection in the program matches it, then correct the program sequence.
7If the alarm persists with a corrected program, record the alarm number, code and object and contact Okuma service.
