KUKA Robot KRC0549 - Component check error

Component check error

This alarm indicates that a component or workpiece has become damaged, displaced, or is no longer properly secured within the fixture or gripper during operation. The KRC controller has detected a loss of grip force, position deviation, or mechanical integrity through integrated sensor feedback, preventing continued safe execution of the work cycle.

Common Causes

  • Gripper or clamping mechanism failure resulting in loss of grip force
  • Workpiece or component slippage due to inadequate clamping pressure or worn fixture surfaces
  • Damaged or defective component detected by quality assurance sensors before processing
  • Misalignment or improper seating of the workpiece in the fixture during loading
  • Worn or damaged gripper jaws, fingers, or vacuum cups preventing secure retention

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Stop the robot immediately and verify the physical state of the component and fixture for visible damage, deformation, or displacement
  2. 2Check the gripper or clamping device for proper functionality by performing manual grip test cycles without a workpiece
  3. 3Measure and verify clamping force using a force gauge to ensure it meets specification for the current workpiece type
  4. 4Inspect gripper contact surfaces for wear, contamination, or damage; clean or replace gripper components as needed
  5. 5Review the component check sensor configuration in the KRC program and verify sensor calibration and signal integrity
  6. 6Reload the component ensuring proper positioning and seating in the fixture, then clear the alarm and restart the work cycle
