Siemens 300864 - Axis drive emergency retraction mode/generator mode not

Axis drive emergency retraction mode/generator mode not

Emergency retraction/Generator operation is only possible with an active DC link measurement (MD 1161: $MD_FIXED_LINK_VOLTAGE (DC link fixed voltage = 0). In an old hardware version, no DC link measurement is possible and therefore the error message 300765 might appear in addition if MD 1161: $MD_FIXED_LINK_VOLTAGE (DC link fixed voltage) is set to 0 in an old hardware version Control reaction: Interface signals are set. Alarm display.

Root Cause Summary

This alarm occurs when emergency retraction or generator mode is attempted but the drive does not support or is not properly configured for these functions. This typically involves DC link voltage monitoring capabilities and drive-specific settings.

Safety

  • Drive/power/encoder circuit: hazardous voltages may remain in the DC link after power-off. Lock out / tag out, wait for discharge per the drive documentation, and use qualified personnel only.

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

    Check MD 1161 Setting

Access machine data parameters and verify if MD 1161 is set to 0 (active DC link measurement).

  2. 2

    Adjust Parameter

If not set to 0, update MD 1161 as per machine manual and save changes.

  3. 3

    Reset and Test

Clear the alarm, reset the control, and test the program again.

DIY Feasiblehigh confidence

Call a technician if:

  • ·If MD 1161 cannot be adjusted or alarm persists
  • ·If hardware limitations are confirmed but workaround is unclear

Prevention

  • Verify machine data settings before enabling special modes
  • Ensure program compatibility with hardware version

Common Mistakes

  • Overlooking MD 1161 value in machine data
  • Assuming all hardware supports required features
