Siemens 10810 - Block master spindle not defined
Alarm 10810 fires when G95 (feedrate per revolution), G96 (constant surface speed), or G331/G332 (rigid tapping) is programmed without a defined master spindle. The NCK requires a master spindle reference to derive speed values, which is either missing from MD 20090 SPIND_DEF_MASTER_SPIND or not explicitly set via SETMS keyword in the NC program.
Siemens 10810 - Block master spindle not defined
Block master spindle not defined
The function "Revolutional feedrate" (with G95 or G96), or "Rigid tapping" (with G331/G332) has been programmed, although no master spindle is defined from which the speed could be derived. For the definition the MD 20090 $MC_SPIND_DEF_MASTER_SPIND is available for the default or the keyword SETMS in the part program, thus allowing each spindle of the channel to be redefined as master spindle Control reaction: Correction block is reorganized. Local alarm reaction. Interface signals are set. Alarm display. Alarms.

Safety
Causes and Fixes
Access Siemens HMI menu: Maintenance > Machine Data > Spindle Parameters. Navigate to MD 20090 SPIND_DEF_MASTER_SPIND for the affected channel.
Verify the parameter value corresponds to a valid spindle number defined in MD 20100 SPIND_DEF_NR (spindle definition number). Valid spindle IDs typically range 1–8 depending on machine configuration.
If MD 20090 = 0 or blank, no default master spindle is configured.
Set MD 20090 to the spindle number used for feedrate-dependent operations (usually the main spindle). For example, set to 1 for S1 (first spindle).
Save and activate machine data (Ctrl+S or Save function in HMI). Perform a machine reset (warm/cold reset) to load updated MD values into NCK memory.
