Siemens 10870 - Block facing axis for constant velocity not defined

Block facing axis for constant velocity not defined

Constant cutting speed was selected although no transverse axis was applied as reference axis for constant cutting speed or assigned through SCC[AX]. Constant cutting speed can be activated as follows: - Basic position G96, G961 or G962 of G group 29 during booting - Programming of G96, G961 or G962 A reference axis for G96, G961 or G962 can be applied as a transverse axis in MD20100 $MC_DIAMETER_AX_DEF or defined through the instruction SCC[AX] Control reaction: Correction block is reorganized. Local alarm reaction. Interface signals are set. Alarm display.

Safety

  • Only qualified personnel should diagnose and clear control alarms; follow the machine builder's safety procedures and lockout/tagout where hardware work is required.

Common Causes

  • Constant cutting speed was selected although no transverse axis was applied as reference axis for constant cutting speed or assigned through SCC[AX].
  • Constant cutting speed can be activated as follows: - Basic position G96, G961 or G962 of G group 29 during booting - Programming of G96, G961 or G962 A reference axis for G96, G961 or G962 can be applied as a transverse axis in MD20100 $MC_DIAMETER_AX_DEF or defined through the instruction SCC[AX]

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Please inform the authorized personnel/service department.
  2. 2Check MD20100 $MC_DIAMETER_AX_DEF.
  3. 3Before programming G96, G961 or G962 a transverse axis must be defined as a reference axis for constant cutting speed via MD20100 $MC_DIAMETER_AX_DEF or SCC[AX].
  4. 4Clear alarm with NC START or RESET key and continue the program
