Okuma OSP Alarm A 8606 - APC door open/close limit NG

APC door open/close limit NG

At power-up the control checked the open-end and close-end limit switches of the APC operator door or front door and found both switches ON or both OFF at the same time, which is physically impossible for a door at rest. The door position therefore cannot be determined and automatic pallet/door operation is blocked.

Common Causes

  • Failed door open-end or close-end limit switch stuck ON or OFF
  • Limit switch actuator misaligned so one switch never changes state
  • Wiring or connector fault to one of the door limit switches

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Identify whether the alarm concerns the operator door or the front door, then locate that door's open-end and close-end limit switches.
  2. 2Monitor the two limit switch inputs on the I/O screen while manually moving the door: at full open only the open-end switch should be ON, at full close only the close-end switch should be ON.
  3. 3If one input never changes, check that switch's actuator/dog alignment and adjust so it is positively operated at the end of travel.
  4. 4Inspect the switch wiring and connector for damage or looseness before condemning the switch.
  5. 5Replace the faulty door open/close end limit switch as directed by the manual, then cycle the door fully open and closed and confirm the inputs alternate correctly.
