  • Clamp/unclamp commanded with the B-turret control switch in ineffective mode

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 1 = Tool clamp not completed within 5 seconds; code 2 = Tool unclamp not completed within 5 seconds; code 3 = Tool clamp/unclamp commanded with B-turret control switch in ineffective mode
  2. 2Read the code: 1 means tool clamp not completed within 5 seconds, 2 means tool unclamp not completed within 5 seconds, 3 means the clamp/unclamp command was issued with the B-turret control switch selected in ineffective mode.
  3. 3For code 3, move the B-turret control switch out of ineffective mode before commanding clamp or unclamp.
  4. 4For codes 1 and 2, check the solenoid for tool clamp or unclamp as the manual directs: verify the solenoid energizes and the hydraulic/air pressure reaches the clamp cylinder.
  5. 5Check the confirmation switch for tool clamp or unclamp as the manual directs: the switch must change state within the 5-second window.
  6. 6If the solenoid and confirmation switch work, look for a sticking clamp mechanism or contaminated hydraulic circuit slowing the operation.
