Okuma OSP Alarm A 8537 - Magazine door Interlock

Magazine door Interlock

A motion or rotation command was attempted while the magazine door was open, or someone tried to open the magazine door while the machine was moving or rotating. The control blocked the action to protect the operator.

Common Causes

  • Magazine door left open during a commanded motion
  • Faulty magazine door interlock switch
  • Operator trying to open the door during spindle, axis, turret or ATC motion

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 1 = Attempted while door open: spindle rotation; code 2 = Attempted while door open: M-tool spindle rotation; code 3 = Attempted while door open: axis movement; code 4 = Attempted while door open: turret indexing; code 6 = Attempted while door open: sub-spindle or pick-off spindle rotation; code 7 = Attempted while door open: ATC operation
  2. 2Read the code on screen to find which motion was attempted: 1 spindle rotation, 2 M-tool spindle rotation, 3 axis movement, 4 turret indexing, 6 sub-spindle or pick-off spindle rotation, 7 ATC operation.
  3. 3Close the magazine door fully and retry the command; if the alarm clears only when the door is slammed or wiggled, suspect the door switch.
  4. 4Check the magazine door interlock limit switch and its actuator for correct engagement and adjust or replace the switch if the closed state is not detected.
  5. 5If the alarm occurred when opening the door, make sure all spindle, axis, turret and ATC motion has fully stopped before commanding the door open.
  6. 6If it returns after these checks, record the alarm number, code and object and contact Okuma service.
