Okuma OSP Alarm A 8514 - Work conveyor interlock

Work conveyor interlock

A work conveyor command or an axis move was issued while the work conveyor, work hand or XA/XB axes were in conflicting positions. The code identifies the exact interlock violation on the work handling conveyor system.

Common Causes

  • Conveyor rotation commanded while the conveyor was not retracted
  • Conveyor advance commanded while it was already moving
  • Conveyor advance/retract commanded with XA/XB axis not at positive limit
  • Conveyor advance/retract commanded with the work hand not retracted
  • Axis movement commanded with the conveyor not retracted

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 1 = Conveyor rotation command issued while the work conveyor was not retracted.; code 2 = Conveyor advance command issued while the conveyor was moving.; code 3 = Advance/retract command issued while XA/XB axis was not at the positive limit.; code 4 = Advance/retract command issued while the work hand was not at the retract position.; code 5 = Axis movement command issued while the work conveyor was not retracted.
  2. 2Read the code: 1 rotation command with conveyor not retracted; 2 advance command while conveyor moving; 3 advance/retract with XA/XB axis not at positive limit; 4 advance/retract with work hand not at retract position; 5 axis movement command with conveyor not retracted.
  3. 3For code 1 or 5, retract the work conveyor fully and confirm the retract position switch before rotating the conveyor or moving axes.
  4. 4For code 2, wait for the conveyor to stop moving before issuing another advance command; check the conveyor motion completion signal.
  5. 5For code 3, move the XA/XB axis to the positive limit before commanding conveyor advance or retract.
  6. 6For code 4, retract the work hand to its retract position first, then retry the conveyor advance/retract command.
  7. 7Run the conveyor sequence in single block, confirming each position switch state before the next command.
