Okuma OSP Alarm A 8513 - Coolant interlock

Coolant interlock

A coolant command was issued in a state the coolant system does not allow: either the ball valve was open when the coolant command came, or a ball valve open/close command was given while coolant was discharging.

Common Causes

  • Coolant command issued with the ball valve open
  • Ball valve open/close command (M746/M747) issued during coolant discharge

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 1 = Coolant command issued with the ball valve open; code 2 = Ball valve open/close command (M746/M747) issued during coolant discharge
  2. 2Read the code: 1 means the coolant command was issued with the ball valve open, 2 means the ball valve open/close command (M746/M747) was issued during coolant discharge.
  3. 3For code 1, close the ball valve before issuing the coolant command; check the ball valve position switch to confirm it reads closed.
  4. 4For code 2, stop coolant discharge first, then issue M746/M747 to operate the ball valve.
  5. 5If the sequence looks correct, check the ball valve open/close confirmation switches and their wiring.
  6. 6Review the program order so coolant and ball valve commands never overlap.
