Okuma OSP Alarm C 3775 - Lubrication unit error

Lubrication unit error

The lubrication unit reported an error condition: either its oil level is low or the unit signaled a general error. Machine lubrication is compromised, so the control raises this alarm to protect slideways and ball screws.

Common Causes

  • Lubrication unit oil level low
  • Lubrication unit internal error condition
  • Faulty level switch or error signal wiring from the lubrication unit
  • Blocked lube lines causing the unit to flag an error

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 1 = Lubrication unit oil level is low.; code 2 = Lubrication unit error condition occurred.
  2. 2Read the code: code 1 means the lubrication unit oil level is low; code 2 means a lubrication unit error condition occurred.
  3. 3For code 1, check the lubrication unit reservoir sight glass and top up with the specified lubricant; inspect the lube lines for leaks that drained the tank.
  4. 4For code 2, inspect the lubrication unit itself: look for its own alarm indication, check the pump runs when commanded, and check for blocked filters or lines.
  5. 5Test the oil level float switch and the error signal wiring from the unit to the NC input for correct operation and secure connections.
  6. 6After refilling or repair, run a manual lubrication cycle and confirm the error signal clears and oil reaches the lubrication points.
