Okuma OSP Alarm C 3844 - Invalid loader grease lubrication input

Invalid loader grease lubrication input

One of the grease lubrication flow inputs for the loader or conveyor never changed state as expected. The control monitors these inputs to confirm grease is actually being delivered, and a stuck-on or never-on signal means the lubrication is not happening or the sensor is faulty.

Common Causes

  • Grease pump not running or grease reservoir empty
  • Flow sensor/switch on the loader or conveyor grease line faulty or stuck
  • Blocked grease line or wiring fault on the flow input

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 1 = Loader grease lubrication flow-1 input never turned ON; code 2 = Loader grease lubrication flow-2 input never turned ON; code 3 = Conveyor grease lubrication flow input never turned ON; code 4 = Loader grease lubrication flow-1 input never turned OFF; code 5 = Loader grease lubrication flow-2 input never turned OFF; code 6 = Conveyor grease lubrication flow input never turned OFF
  2. 2Read the code: 1 loader grease flow-1 never ON, 2 loader grease flow-2 never ON, 3 conveyor grease flow never ON, 4 loader flow-1 never OFF, 5 loader flow-2 never OFF, 6 conveyor flow never OFF.
  3. 3For a never-ON code, check the grease reservoir level, run a manual grease cycle, and watch whether the corresponding flow input changes on the I/O check screen.
  4. 4If grease is visibly being delivered but the input never turns on, replace the flow sensor on that line.
  5. 5For a never-OFF code, the sensor is stuck or its wiring is shorted; tap the sensor, check for swarf or hardened grease holding it closed, and inspect the cable.
  6. 6Clear blocked grease lines and verify each lubrication point on the loader and conveyor actually receives grease.
