Okuma OSP Alarm C 3895 - Coolant controller error

Coolant controller error

The coolant controller or coolant cooler signaled an alarm: one of its alarm/normal signals stayed OFF beyond its allowed time, or the coolant oil controller motor is overloaded. Coolant supply is stopped until the controller reports healthy.

Common Causes

  • Coolant oil controller motor overloaded
  • Coolant controller or cooler unit internal alarm
  • Wiring fault on one of the controller alarm signal lines (I.025B, I.0366, I.0350, iCLOCA1/, iCLOCA2/)
  • Coolant unit power supply problem

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 1 = Coolant controller alarm signal (I.025B) OFF for 1 second or longer.; code 2 = Coolant cooler alarm signal (I.0366) OFF for 2 seconds or longer.; code 3 = Coolant controller alarm signal (I.0366) OFF for 2 seconds or longer.; code 4 = Coolant controller alarm signal (I.0350) OFF for 1 second or longer.; code 5 = Coolant cooler alarm signal 1 (iCLOCA1/) turned OFF.; code 6 = Coolant cooler alarm signal 2 (iCLOCA2/) turned OFF.; code 7 = Coolant cooler alarm signal OFF for 3 seconds or longer; coolant oil controller motor under excessive load.
  2. 2Read the code to identify which signal failed: codes 1/3/4 are coolant controller alarm signals OFF too long (I.025B, I.0366, I.0350), codes 5/6 are cooler alarm signals 1 and 2 (iCLOCA1/, iCLOCA2/), and code 7 means the cooler alarm stayed OFF 3 seconds or more with the coolant oil controller motor under excessive load.
  3. 3For code 7 or suspected overload, check the coolant oil controller motor: verify it turns freely, is not jammed by contamination, and that its overload relay has not tripped; the manual directs checking this motor.
  4. 4Inspect the coolant controller and cooler units for their own alarm displays and reset or address the unit-level fault indicated.
  5. 5Check the wiring and connectors on the reported signal line back to the NC input for breaks or looseness.
  6. 6Restore coolant and confirm the controller alarm signal stays ON during a coolant run test without re-alarming.
