Okuma OSP Alarm C 3771 - Lube tank motor run time over

Lube tank motor run time over

The lubrication tank motor ran longer than the allowed ON-time limit, so the control shut it down and raised this alarm. It means the lube motor was commanded on continuously instead of being turned off as intended.

Common Causes

  • Program missing the lubrication output OFF command (M834)
  • Lubrication motor ON button held down continuously
  • Lubrication motor ON button stuck or malfunctioning

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 1 = Lubrication motor ran past its permitted ON-time limit
  2. 2Check whether the lubrication motor ON button on the panel is stuck, held, or mechanically binding — free it and see if the alarm clears.
  3. 3If the alarm occurred during an automatic cycle, confirm the program issues the lubrication oil output OFF command (M834) after the lube ON command; add it if missing.
  4. 4Test the lube motor ON button electrically; if its contact stays made after release, replace the button/switch.
  5. 5After correcting the cause, run a manual lube cycle and confirm the motor stops within the normal ON-time limit.
