Okuma OSP Alarm B 2371 - TOW-ALONG TAILSTOCK MOVEMENT condition

TOW-ALONG TAILSTOCK MOVEMENT condition

G152 (tow-along tailstock positioning cycle) or G153 (tow-along steady rest translocation cycle) was designated under a prohibited condition: wrong saddle mode, missing W command, active nose-R compensation or LAP mode, or a state conflict on sub spindle-tailstock control specifications.

Common Causes

  • G152/G153 designated in other than G13 (A saddle) mode
  • G152/G153 designated without a W command, or during tool nose radius compensation or LAP mode
  • Restart position mismatch, multiple sizing position setting unmatched, or sizing position command with brake not released

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 1 = G152/G153 designated in other than A saddle mode; code 2 = G152/G153 designated without a W command; code 3 = G152/G153 designated during tool nose radius compensation mode; code 4 = G152/G153 designated during LAP mode; code 5 = G152/G153 issued in Y-axis control mode; code 6 = G152 issued with X axis not at plus variable limit position; code 7 = Restart-order tailstock real position differs from movement target position; code 8 = Multiple sizing position command setting value unmatched
  2. 2Read the code: 1 G152/G153 in other than A saddle mode, 2 without a W command, 3 during tool nose radius compensation, 4 during LAP mode, 5 in Y-axis control mode, 6 with X axis not at plus variable limit position, 7 restart-order tailstock real position differs from movement target, 8 multiple sizing position setting unmatched, 9 sizing position command while brake not released.
  3. 3For code 1, command G13 (A saddle mode) before G152/G153; for code 2, add the W command to the block.
  4. 4For codes 3-5, cancel tool nose radius compensation, LAP mode, or Y-axis control mode before the tow-along cycle.
  5. 5For code 6, move the X axis to the plus variable limit position first; for code 7, re-teach or re-reference the tailstock position before restart.
  6. 6For codes 8-9, correct the multiple sizing position setting and confirm the brake is released before the sizing position command.
