Okuma OSP Alarm B 2534 - LBB turret rotation impossible

LBB turret rotation impossible

A long bore bar (LBB) turret turn command (G269) was issued when conditions did not allow it. The code identifies the exact blocking condition, from missing LBB specification and wrong modes to axis positions outside the permitted ranges.

Common Causes

  • Machine has no long bore bar specification
  • G269 commanded during a fixed cycle, LAP cycle, slope processing or W-axis control mode
  • G269 commanded without Nose-R correction mode or in a mirror/COPY coordinate mode
  • T1/T3 stepping, B-axis not in axial mode or clamped, Z/X/YS axes out of the permitted turn range
  • LBB attached without the auxiliary tool fitted

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 1 = Machine has no long bore bar specification.; code 2 = Commanded during a fixed cycle.; code 3 = Commanded without Nose-R correction mode.; code 4 = Commanded during the LAP cycle.; code 5 = Commanded in slope processing mode.; code 6 = Commanded in W-axis control mode.; code 7 = Commanded on the X-axis mirror image coordinate system.; code 8 = Commanded in coordinate translation, rotational transfer or COPY mode.
  2. 2Read the code to find the blocking condition: 1 no LBB specification; 2 fixed cycle active; 3 no Nose-R correction mode; 4 LAP cycle; 5 slope processing; 6 W-axis control mode; 7 X-axis mirror image; 8 coordinate translation/rotation/COPY mode; 9 tailstock with swinging stop connected.
  3. 3For codes 101-109 check machine positions: 101 T1/T3 stepping over directed; 102 not B axial mode; 103 B axis not unclamped; 104 Z axis outside the tool-post turn OK range; 105 X axis not at plus variable limit; 106 YS axis not at spindle center; 107 commanded in X or Z axis; 108 commanded with a G-code other than G00/G01; 109 LBB attached without auxiliary tool.
  4. 4For mode codes 1-9, cancel the conflicting cycle or mode (fixed cycle, LAP, slope, W-axis, mirror, COPY) or fit the required specification before issuing G269.
  5. 5For position codes 101-109, move the B axis, Z axis, X axis and YS axis into the permitted state, unclamp the B axis and use only G00/G01 with the command.
  6. 6Correct the program part matching the code as the manual directs, then re-run the LBB turn in single block to confirm G269 executes.
