Okuma OSP Alarm B 2519 - Tailstock control command

Tailstock control command

On a sub spindle-tailstock control specification machine, a prohibited instruction was issued: M1152/M1153 used when the spec is not present, conflicting commands in the same block, or the mode change conditions between sub spindle and tailstock were not met.

Common Causes

  • M1152/M1153 commanded without the sub spindle-tailstock control specification
  • W-axis or G140/G141 commands in the same block as M1152/M1153, or different orders on A/B turrets
  • Mode change conditions (G140, work position or W-axis plus limit, not G145, not superimpose mode, X-axis plus limit, not teach mode) not satisfied

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 1 = M1152/M1153 commanded without sub spindle-tailstock control specification; code 2 = W-axis or G140/G141 in the same block as M1152/M1153; code 3 = Different M1152/M1153 orders on A/B turrets; code 4 = Sub spindle to tailstock mode change conditions not met; code 5 = Tailstock to sub spindle mode change conditions not met; code 6 = Conflicting synchronized instructions already accepted on the other side
  2. 2Read the code: 1 M1152/M1153 without the specification, 2 W-axis or G140/G141 in the same block, 3 different M1152/M1153 orders on A/B turrets, 4 sub spindle to tailstock mode change conditions not met, 5 tailstock to sub spindle mode change conditions not met, 6 conflicting synchronized instructions already accepted on the other side.
  3. 3For code 1, remove M1152/M1153 from the program on machines without the sub spindle-tailstock control specification.
  4. 4For code 2, split the W-axis move and G140/G141 commands into separate blocks from M1152/M1153.
  5. 5For codes 4 and 5, satisfy the listed conditions before the mode change: G140 state, work position or W-axis plus limit per the NC TAIL STOCK 1SP spec code, not G145, not Z-W superimpose mode, X-axis plus limit, not teach mode.
  6. 6For code 6, check both turrets for already-accepted synchronized instructions (G122/G123 and similar) and reorder the program so M1152/M1153 is accepted only when the other side is clear.
