Okuma OSP Alarm B 2464 - Spindle/turret G-code

Spindle/turret G-code

The program contains a spindle/turret selection G-code that is invalid for the current machine configuration: either G142 was commanded on the A-turret side, or G140/G141 was commanded on a machine that is not a sub-spindle or pick-off specification. The control rejects the block as a program error.

Common Causes

  • G142 (spindle turret selection) programmed at the A-turret side
  • G140 or G141 (spindle/turret selection) programmed on a machine without sub-spindle or pick-off specification
  • Program written for a different machine configuration being run on this machine

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code hex value = Hexadecimal number of the designated G-code that caused the alarm
  2. 2Read the code shown with the alarm — it is the hexadecimal value of the offending G-code, confirming whether G140, G141 or G142 caused the alarm.
  3. 3Open the program at the alarm block and find the spindle/turret selection G-code (e.g. G142 following G13 as in the manual's example).
  4. 4If G142 was commanded at the A-turret side, remove it or move it to the correct system/turret side for this machine.
  5. 5If G140/G141 was commanded on a machine without sub-spindle or pick-off specification, delete or replace it with the selection method valid for this machine.
  6. 6Correct the program error and rerun the block to verify the alarm clears.
