Okuma OSP Alarm A 1779 - Manual tool change operation interlock

Manual tool change operation interlock

The M70 manual tool change command was issued while the turret was not indexed to a position where manual tool change is allowed, or the turret was indexed away from that position while M70 was still executing. On LB15II/LB35II-MATC-Y and LU45-MATC-Y machines, manual change is only possible with T1 at the cutting position or other stations at the ATC position.

Common Causes

  • M70 commanded with the turret indexed to a station that is not at the manual tool change position
  • Turret rotated to a non-permitted station during M70 execution
  • Program issues M70 without first indexing T1 to the cutting position (or the target station to the ATC position)

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 1 = M70 issued without the turret indexed to the manual tool change possible position; code 2 = Turret indexed to a manual tool change impossible position while M70 was executing
  2. 2Read the code: code 1 means M70 was issued at a non-permitted turret position; code 2 means the turret moved to a non-permitted position during M70.
  3. 3Cancel the M70 sequence and index the turret to a manual tool change possible position: T1 at the cutting position, or any other station at the ATC position.
  4. 4Re-issue M70 only after the turret is confirmed at the permitted position.
  5. 5In the program, add or correct the turret index command so the turret is at the manual change position before the M70 block.
  6. 6If the alarm appears even with the turret correctly indexed, record the alarm number, code and object and contact Okuma service.
