Okuma OSP Alarm A 1787 - Door open/close check NG

Door open/close check NG

After an automatic door open or close command, the door's confirmation input did not match the command output within the monitor time set in MC SYSTEM PARAMETER NO.2 TURRET/DOOR "Door open/close monitor timer". The control therefore cannot verify that the front, ceiling, or APC door actually reached the commanded position.

Common Causes

  • Front or ceiling door sticking or moving too slowly to complete travel within the monitor time
  • Faulty or misadjusted door open/close confirmation limit switch
  • An object or person caught in the door path preventing full travel
  • Door actuator (air cylinder) weak or losing air pressure so the door stalls mid-travel

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 1 = Front door open confirmation signal was not received; code 2 = Front door close confirmation signal was not received; code 3 = Ceiling door open confirmation signal was not received; code 4 = Ceiling door close confirmation signal was not received; code 5 = APC door open confirmation signal was not received; code 6 = APC door close confirmation signal was not received
  2. 2Read the code on screen to identify which door and which direction failed: Code 1 = front door open not confirmed, 2 = front door close not confirmed, 3 = ceiling door open not confirmed, 4 = ceiling door close not confirmed, 5 = APC door open not confirmed, 6 = APC door close not confirmed.
  3. 3Before anything else, check the indicated door for a pinched object or person and clear the obstruction — never reach into a moving door path while the machine is energized.
  4. 4Move the door by hand (power isolated) and confirm it travels smoothly end to end; adjust the door, rails, or rollers if it binds or drags.
  5. 5Check the open and close confirmation limit switches on the indicated door: verify each switch clicks at the correct position, adjust its mounting, or replace the switch if it does not actuate reliably.
  6. 6If the door moves slowly, check the air supply and cylinder for the automatic door; slow travel can exceed the door open/close monitor timer even with good switches.
  7. 7If the alarm returns after these checks, record the alarm number, code, and door involved and contact Okuma service.
