Okuma OSP Alarm A 1763 - Tool revolution interlock

Tool revolution interlock

The M-tool rotation command was designated under a condition where the M-tool spindle must not rotate, or the rotation-permission condition dropped out while the M-tool spindle was rotating. The control interlocks live-tool rotation to prevent damage.

Common Causes

  • M-tool rotation commanded while the C-axis is not connected
  • M-tool rotation commanded while the ATC tool (M-tool) is unclamped or the turret is not clamped
  • Spindle orientation pin not engaged, or M-tool commanded while the main spindle is rotating

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 1 = M-tool rotation commanded when C-axis is not connected; code 2 = M-tool rotation commanded when ATC tool (M-tool) is unclamped; code 3 = Spindle orientation pin engagement not confirmed, or measure sensor attached to turret M-tool securing pin on ATC machines; code 4 = M-tool spindle rotation commanded while the spindle is rotating; code 5 = M-tool spindle rotation commanded when turret is not clamped; code 6 = H1-turret: M-tool revolution commanded during M-axis clamp or L-tool confirmation state
  2. 2Read the code: 1 means C-axis not connected, 2 means ATC tool (M-tool) unclamped, 3 means spindle orientation pin engagement not confirmed (or measure sensor attached to the turret M-tool securing pin on ATC machines), 4 means main spindle rotating, 5 means turret not clamped, 6 means H1-turret M-axis clamp or L-tool confirmation state.
  3. 3For code 1, connect the C-axis before commanding M-tool rotation.
  4. 4For code 2 or 5, clamp the ATC tool and confirm the turret clamp state before starting the M-tool spindle.
  5. 5For code 3, complete spindle orientation and confirm the orientation pin is engaged; on ATC machines remove the measure sensor from the turret M-tool securing pin before indexing or rotating the M-tool.
  6. 6For code 4, stop the main spindle completely before commanding M-tool rotation.
