Okuma OSP Alarm A 1199 - MCS Axis stop signal error

MCS Axis stop signal error

The OSP detected a malfunction of the PSRDY (axis stop/ready) signal input to the MIV unit for the indicated axis or spindle. This signal path runs through the stroke end limit switch and power supply unit wiring, so the fault is usually in that hardware chain rather than the drive itself.

Common Causes

  • Defective stroke end limit switch or damaged limit switch signal line
  • Damaged OPR line to the power supply unit or poor connector contact
  • Damaged converter link cable of the MIV unit or poor connector contact
  • Faulty FUB-DR3 board or POS unit

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 1 = PSRDY signal input to the MIV unit malfunctioned
  2. 2Note the axis named in [Object]; the code shown is 1.
  3. 3Check the stroke end limit switch for that axis: verify it actuates cleanly, and inspect its signal line for cuts, pinching or coolant damage.
  4. 4Inspect the OPR line connected to the power supply unit and reseat its connectors; look for corrosion or loose pins.
  5. 5Check the converter link cable of the MIV unit and its connectors for damage or poor contact; reseat or replace the cable.
  6. 6Only after the wiring checks, suspect the FUB-DR3 board or POS unit and have them tested or replaced.
  7. 7If the alarm returns after these checks, record the alarm number, code and object and contact Okuma service.
