Okuma OSP Alarm A 1229 - Max. spindle rotation count not specified

Max. spindle rotation count not specified

The allowable maximum spindle speed (G50 S****) was not designated before the spindle rotation command was given for automatic operation. Without the G50 clamp, the control refuses to run the spindle in auto mode.

Common Causes

  • Program error: G50 S**** missing before the spindle rotation command
  • Program structure lost the G50 setting before automatic operation

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 1 = Allowable maximum spindle speed not designated before spindle rotation command
  2. 2Read the code: 1 confirms the allowable maximum spindle speed was not designated before the spindle rotation command for automatic operation.
  3. 3Open the program and find the first spindle rotation command; add a G50 S**** line before it with the allowable maximum spindle speed for the job.
  4. 4Check subprograms and macros called before the rotation command to ensure they do not clear the G50 setting.
  5. 5Rerun the program in single block through the first spindle start to confirm the alarm is gone.
