KRC0546

KUKA Robot KRC0546 - General system air pressure

General system air pressure

This alarm indicates that the system air pressure has fallen below the minimum required threshold for proper operation of the pneumatic valve control circuits in the KUKA KRC controller. The robot cannot safely execute pneumatic functions such as gripper control, tool changers, or pneumatic brake release until adequate air pressure is restored to the system.

Common Causes

  • Air compressor is not running or has shut down unexpectedly
  • Leak in the pneumatic supply line or connections between compressor and robot controller
  • Pressure regulator malfunction or incorrect pressure setting below minimum threshold
  • Clogged air filter or desiccant dryer reducing flow and system pressure
  • Failure of pressure sensor or pressure transducer providing incorrect feedback to KRC controller

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Verify that the air compressor is powered on and actively supplying compressed air to the system
  2. 2Check all visible pneumatic tubing and quick-disconnect couplers for leaks, loose fittings, or damage
  3. 3Inspect and clean or replace the air filter and check the desiccant dryer cartridge condition
  4. 4Verify the pressure regulator is set to the correct operating pressure (typically 6-8 bar for KUKA systems) using a calibrated pressure gauge
  5. 5Test the pressure transducer/sensor with a multimeter to confirm it is outputting correct voltage signal to the KRC controller
  6. 6If pressure is adequate but alarm persists, perform a controller power cycle and check system logs for additional fault codes
