KRC0544

KUKA Robot KRC0544 - Oil filter dirty

Oil filter dirty

The hydraulic system pressure has dropped below operational requirements because the hydraulic oil filter has accumulated excessive contaminants and is restricting flow. This alarm indicates that preventive maintenance for the filter element is overdue and must be performed immediately.

Common Causes

  • Hydraulic oil filter element has reached maximum service life or contamination capacity
  • Bypass valve on the filter housing has opened due to excessive pressure drop across element
  • Incorrect filter element specification installed during last maintenance procedure
  • Hydraulic fluid not changed regularly, causing accelerated filter clogging from oxidized particles
  • Internal leakage in filter seal or housing allowing unfiltered fluid to bypass the element

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Check the hydraulic fluid level in the reservoir and verify it is within the minimum and maximum marks
  2. 2Observe the filter bypass indicator light or gauge on the robot cabinet for activation status
  3. 3Schedule immediate hydraulic filter element replacement according to KUKA maintenance documentation specifications
  4. 4After filter replacement, verify that system pressure returns to normal operating range using the pressure gauge
  5. 5Perform a complete hydraulic fluid analysis if the filter was severely contaminated to detect water or particle ingress
  6. 6Review the maintenance log and adjust filter change intervals if contamination levels indicate more frequent service is needed
