KUKA Robot KRC0007 - Transmission error <HPU or RCP>

Transmission error <HPU or RCP>

This alarm indicates a communication transmission error between the KRC robot controller and the KCP (KUKA Control Panel) teach pendant or HPU (Hydraulic Power Unit) interface. The KRC cannot establish or maintain proper data exchange with the connected peripheral device, preventing normal operational control and feedback.

Common Causes

  • Loose or damaged KCP connection cable or connector pins
  • Defective or incompatible KCP teach pendant hardware
  • Corrupted or outdated firmware in the KCP device
  • Electrical interference or shielding issues in the connection pathway
  • Internal KRC controller communication bus fault or serial port malfunction

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Power cycle the KRC controller and KCP teach pendant simultaneously, waiting 30 seconds between shutdown and restart
  2. 2Inspect the KCP connection cable for physical damage, kinks, or corrosion and verify all connector pins are properly seated and aligned
  3. 3Disconnect and reconnect the KCP cable at both the controller and pendant ends to ensure secure contact
  4. 4Check the KRC system log files via the teach pendant or engineering software for additional error details and timestamps
  5. 5Verify KCP firmware version matches the KRC controller software version; update if necessary using KUKA.SystemSoftware
  6. 6If error persists, perform a hardware diagnostic test via the KRC diagnostics menu or contact KUKA service to replace the defective KCP cable or controller communication module
