KUKA Robot KRC0014 - ERROR SAFETY LOOP

ERROR SAFETY LOOP

The KRC0014 safety loop error indicates a failure in the dual-channel safety circuit monitoring system or conflicting activation of multiple enabling devices. This alarm triggers when the safety controller detects an interruption in the safety loop continuity or simultaneous activation of redundant enabling switches that should not occur during normal operation.

Common Causes

  • Broken or damaged safety loop wiring between the safety module and enabling switches
  • Faulty or worn enabling switch (Enabling Device/3-position enable switch) providing inconsistent contact signals
  • Simultaneous pressing of multiple independent enabling switches or mushroom stop buttons
  • Loose or corroded electrical connectors in the safety circuit harness
  • Defective safety relay module or input card channel failure on the KRC controller

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Release all operator controls and allow the system to de-energize; attempt to reset the alarm via the teach pendant menu to determine if it is intermittent
  2. 2Visually inspect all safety loop wiring, connectors, and enabling switches for visible damage, corrosion, or loose connections
  3. 3Test the enabling switch (3-position enable switch) for proper mechanical operation and electrical continuity using a multimeter on the safety circuit terminals
  4. 4Verify that only one enabling switch is being activated at a time and check for mechanical binding or jamming of the device
  5. 5Use KUKA diagnostic tools or the controller's safety module interface to check input signal status and identify which specific channel or switch has failed
  6. 6If the fault persists, contact KUKA service to perform a safety relay module diagnosis or request replacement of the defective safety input card
