KUKA Robot KRC0006 - KCP Transmission Error

KCP Transmission Error

KCP transmission error indicates a communication cable fault between the smartPAD and KRC4 control cabinet. The robot cannot receive control signals and enters safety stop mode with all motion and command execution disabled.

Common Causes

  • Damaged, pinched, or severed KCP umbilical cable from physical abrasion
  • Loose or corroded connector pins at KCP socket or KRC4 junction box
  • Cable shield grounding failure causing EMI interference on data lines
  • Internal wire breakage in multi-conductor cable from repeated flexing
  • Incorrect cable type or non-standard extension adapter in signal path

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Visually inspect the entire KCP cable length for visible cuts, pinches, or damage marks
  2. 2Firmly reseat both connectors at KCP and KRC4 junction box with quarter-turn security locks
  3. 3Check for proper grounding of cable shield to cabinet ground lug with multimeter
  4. 4Test cable continuity and resistance for each signal line using digital multimeter
  5. 5Replace KCP cable with original KUKA part number and route through proper cable management
  6. 6If error clears after cable replacement, perform full system functional test in teach mode
