KUKA Robot KRC0012 - Too Many Messages

Too Many Messages

Too many messages alarm indicates the KRC4 system message buffer is overflowing from excessive diagnostic or warning output. Robot motion is stopped as a protective measure when the real-time kernel cannot process the message queue.

Common Causes

  • KRL program generating excessive DIAG messages or logging statements in tight loops
  • Faulty sensor producing continuous interrupt signals at millisecond intervals
  • System experiencing cascading warnings from unresolved equipment faults
  • KRC4 communication interface receiving malformed packets from external controllers
  • Message buffer size configuration too small for application workload in WorkVisual

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Review the active KRL program for diagnostic output statements within high-frequency loops
  2. 2Comment out or remove unnecessary DIAG and LOGMSG commands from the source code
  3. 3Check sensor signal quality and frequency with oscilloscope to identify noise sources
  4. 4Clear the message buffer and restart KRC4 to reset the accumulation counter
  5. 5Adjust message buffer configuration parameters in WorkVisual system configuration settings
  6. 6Monitor message generation rate during program execution and optimize code to reduce output volume
