Fanuc Alarm 175 - ILLEGAL G07.1 AXIS
Alarm 175 occurs when the G07.1 (Cylindrical Interpolation) command contains an improperly specified axis or multiple axes in the activation block. The CNC requires only a single rotary axis to be designated as the cylindrical axis, and linear axes X, Y, Z must be capable of coordinated movement with it according to parameter settings.
Fanuc Alarm 175 - ILLEGAL G07.1 AXIS
Circular Interpolation Plane Error
An axis which cannot perform cylindrical interpolation was specified, or more than one axis was specified in a G07.1 block.
Root Cause Summary
Alarm 175 occurs when the G07.1 (Cylindrical Interpolation) command contains an improperly specified axis or multiple axes in the activation block. The CNC requires only a single rotary axis to be designated as the cylindrical axis, and linear axes X, Y, Z must be capable of coordinated movement with it according to parameter settings.
Safety
Causes and Fixes
Review the program line containing G07.1. Correct format is 'G07.1 C_' where C is the rotary axis. Remove any additional axis specifications (X, Y, Z, or additional rotary axes) from this block.
Verify parameter 1022 bit 5 (CYL) is set to 1 to enable cylindrical interpolation function. Access via SYSTEM > PARAM > [1022] and check bit configuration.
Confirm the specified rotary axis matches the axis designated in parameter 1025 (Cylindrical Interpolation Axis Number). Common setting is 3 for C-axis on mill-turn machines.
Test with simplified G07.1 block specifying only the single rotary axis, followed by G07.1 IP0 (cancel) to verify proper modal activation.
