Siemens 301706 - Axis drive parameterization of cam position invalid

Axis drive parameterization of cam position invalid

At least one of the parameterized cams enabled via MD 1301: $MD_SAFE_FUNCTION_ENABLE (safe functions enable) does not comply with the rule stating that cam positions are not allowed to be within the tolerance range around the modulo position. The valid tolerance range is: With inactive cam synchronization (MD 1301 bit 7 = 0): Lower modulo value + POS_TOL <= cam position Upper modulo value - POS_TOL > cam position With active cam synchronization (MD 1301 bit 7 = 1): Lower modulo value + POS_TOL <= cam position Upper modulo value - POS_TOL - CAM_TOL > cam position Explanations: - POS_TOL: Actual value tolerance (MD 1342: $MD_SAFE_POS_TOL (actual value tolerance crosscomparison)) - CAM_TOL: Cam tolerance (MD 1340: $MD_SAFE_CAM_TOL (tolerance for safe cams)) - Upper/lower modulo value: is determined by MD 1305: $MD_SAFE_MODULO_RANGE (actual value range for safe cam with rotary axes) Control reaction: Mode group not ready. Channel not ready. NC Start disable in this channel. Interface signals are set. Alarm display. NC Stop on alarm.

Safety

  • Drive/power/encoder circuit: hazardous voltages may remain in the DC link after power-off. Lock out / tag out, wait for discharge per the drive documentation, and use qualified personnel only.

Common Causes

  • At least one of the parameterized cams enabled via MD 1301: $MD_SAFE_FUNCTION_ENABLE (safe functions enable) does not comply with the rule stating that cam positions are not allowed to be within the tolerance range around the modulo position.
  • The valid tolerance range is: With inactive cam synchronization (MD 1301 bit 7 = 0): Lower modulo value + POS_TOL <= cam position Upper modulo value - POS_TOL > cam position With active cam synchronization (MD 1301 bit 7 = 1): Lower modulo value + POS_TOL <= cam position Upper modulo value - POS_TOL - CAM_TOL > cam position Explanations: - POS_TOL: Actual value tolerance (MD 1342: $MD_SAFE_POS_TOL (actual value tolerance crosscomparison)) - CAM_TOL: Cam tolerance (MD 1340: $MD_SAFE_CAM_TOL (tolerance for safe cams)) - Upper/lower modulo value: is determined by MD 1305: $MD_SAFE_MODULO_RANGE (actual value range for safe cam with rotary axes)

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Please inform the authorized personnel/service department.
  2. 2Check parameterization of the cam positions in - Modify MD 1336: $MD_SAFE_CAM_POS_PLUS (plus cam position for safe cam) and - Modify MD 1337: $MD_SAFE_CAM_POS_MINUS (minus cam position for safe cam) and perform POWER ON.
  3. 3Modify MD 1305: $MD_SAFE_MODULO_RANGE (actual value range for safe cam with rotary axes).
  4. 4Switch control OFF - ON
