Okuma OSP Alarm A 1810 - Safety guard interlock

Safety guard interlock

On a CE-marked robot or OGL loader machine, an operation that is forbidden with the safety guard unlocked was attempted while the guard was unlocked. The control blocked the motion to keep the operator and the loader safe.

Common Causes

  • START on the teaching panel pressed in robot/loader link mode with the safety fence door open
  • Safety fence door limit switch misadjusted or failed so the control thinks the door is open
  • Operation or programming error in the loader sequence

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 1 = START key on the teaching panel pressed in robot/loader link mode with the safety fence door unlocked
  2. 2Code 1 means START was pressed in link mode with the safety fence door unlocked; close and latch the fence door before restarting the cycle.
  3. 3Check that the safety fence door limit switch actually makes and breaks as the door opens and closes; adjust the actuator or replace the switch if it does not.
  4. 4Review the loader operation procedure with the operator so START is only pressed after the fence door is confirmed locked.
  5. 5If the door and switch both prove good and the alarm persists, record the alarm number and code and contact Okuma service.
