KUKA Robot KRC0266 - DATA EXCHANGE

DATA EXCHANGE

The Single Board Computer (SBC) has terminated data exchange with the main controller due to a communication or protocol error. This alarm indicates a breakdown in the real-time communication link between the SBC and KRC controller, preventing synchronization of safety-critical data and sensor inputs.

Common Causes

  • Corrupted or loose connection on the SBC communication cable or connector
  • SBC firmware version incompatibility with the KRC controller software
  • Memory corruption or buffer overflow in the SBC application
  • Timeout during handshake or heartbeat protocol between SBC and controller
  • Electrical interference or noise on the data exchange bus causing packet loss

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Power cycle the robot controller and SBC by performing a complete shutdown and restart
  2. 2Inspect and reseat all SBC communication cables and connectors on both the SBC and KRC controller interface board
  3. 3Verify that the SBC firmware version is compatible with the installed KRC controller software version through the teach pendant diagnostics menu
  4. 4Check the system logs in the KRC controller for timestamp correlation of the alarm with other error messages or communication events
  5. 5If available, perform a diagnostic SBC communication test through the controller's system diagnostics to identify which data packets are failing
  6. 6Contact KUKA service to obtain updated SBC firmware or perform a full system software reinstall if the issue persists after cable verification
