KUKA Robot KRC0271 - STOP COMMAND IGNORED

STOP COMMAND IGNORED

This alarm indicates that one or more robot axes failed to decelerate and stop within the expected timeframe after receiving a stop command from the KRC controller. The axis motion control loop is not responding properly to the deceleration command, which can result in the robot continuing to move beyond the intended stopping point or stopping erratically.

Common Causes

  • Faulty servo drive or axis amplifier not receiving or processing stop signals correctly
  • Degraded or damaged motor encoder/feedback sensor providing incorrect position/velocity data
  • Inadequate brake torque or brake solenoid malfunction preventing mechanical axis hold
  • Excessive load or friction on the axis exceeding the motor's braking capability
  • Communication error or signal loss between KRC controller and the affected axis drive electronics

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Check the robot teach pendant and controller logs for which specific axis triggered the alarm and review the stop command timing
  2. 2Verify all brake solenoid connectors and wiring are seated correctly and test brake engagement with manual actuation where applicable
  3. 3Inspect the motor encoder cable and connector for physical damage, corrosion, or loose pins that could degrade feedback signals
  4. 4Run axis diagnostic tests through the KRC controller's system menu to measure actual deceleration rates and compare against expected profiles
  5. 5Clear any load or obstructions from the affected axis and perform a manual jog test to identify mechanical friction or binding
  6. 6If errors persist, contact KUKA service to perform servo drive calibration or replace the faulty amplifier/encoder module as needed
