KUKA Robot KRC0274 - TOO MANY ASYPTP COMMANDS

TOO MANY ASYPTP COMMANDS

This alarm indicates that the robot controller has received an excessive number of asynchronous point-to-point (ASYPTP) motion commands in the command queue, exceeding the system's buffer capacity. The controller cannot process commands faster than they are being sent, causing a backlog that prevents normal program execution and motion operations.

Common Causes

  • Program or external interface sending PTP commands faster than the robot can execute them
  • Insufficient dwell time or synchronization between successive motion commands in the application code
  • Network communication overload when using external command interfaces (TCP/IP, EtherCAT)
  • Faulty or malfunctioning teach pendant repeatedly sending duplicate movement commands
  • Real-time system overload or scheduling conflicts preventing timely command processing

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Stop the current program execution and clear the command queue by cycling the controller power or using the RESET function
  2. 2Review the robot program logic to identify rapid successive PTP command sequences and add appropriate Wait or Delay commands between motion instructions
  3. 3If using external command interfaces, verify communication protocol timing and implement command throttling to match robot execution speed
  4. 4Check system CPU load and active background processes that may be consuming controller resources; disable non-essential diagnostics or monitoring
  5. 5Inspect the teach pendant connection for hardware faults or stuck buttons that may be generating spurious commands
  6. 6Consult the KUKA KRC system logs to identify which program section or interface is generating the excessive commands and adjust the command generation rate accordingly
