KRC0024

KUKA Robot KRC0024 - DSE ** BOOT UP FAILURE

DSE ** BOOT UP FAILURE

The DSE (Drive Support Electronics) module failed to initialize during the controller boot sequence, preventing proper communication between the KRC controller and the robot's drive system. This is a critical hardware initialization failure that will prevent the controller from reaching operational status and must be resolved before normal robot operation can resume.

Common Causes

  • DSE hardware malfunction or internal component failure
  • Corrupted DSE firmware or failed firmware update process
  • Loose or damaged connectors between KRC controller and DSE module
  • Power supply voltage instability or insufficient power delivery to DSE
  • FPGA initialization failure in the DSE module

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Power cycle the entire KRC controller system completely (minimum 30 seconds without power)
  2. 2Inspect all DSE module connectors and mating connectors on the controller for corrosion, loose pins, or physical damage
  3. 3Reseat the DSE module firmly into its connector slot, ensuring proper seating and alignment
  4. 4Check the 24VDC power supply voltage at the DSE module terminals using a multimeter; verify voltage is stable between 24V ±10%
  5. 5Attempt a firmware update or reset of the DSE module using KRC diagnostics software if available
  6. 6If alarm persists after all checks, replace the DSE module as it likely contains a hardware fault
