PS007

Fanuc Alarm PS007 - Decimal Point Error

ILLEGAL USE OF DECIMAL POINT

Decimal point used incorrectly - either after an address that does not allow it, or multiple decimal points.

Root Cause Summary

PS007 alarm occurs when the CNC detects improper decimal point usage during program execution or editing. This includes decimal points used with address codes that require integer values only (like N, O, G, M codes), multiple decimal points within a single word, or decimal formatting that violates parameter-defined input formats.

Safety

  • Verify numeric format requirements

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

Access EDIT mode and display the active program. Press RESET to clear the alarm and note the line number shown on the alarm history screen (ALARM > HISTORY).

  2. 2

    Search the flagged program block for decimal points after N, O, G, M, T, H, D, S, or P addresses. Common errors include 'G01.' instead of 'G01' or 'M03.0' instead of 'M03'.

  3. 3

Check parameter 3450 bit 0 (MCD) which affects decimal point input interpretation. If set to 1, verify program decimal usage matches pocket calculator format requirements.

  4. 4

Correct the program by removing the decimal point from integer address codes. Re-verify program syntax using SEARCH > CHECK or background edit check if equipped.
