Fanuc 595 - Spindle fixture error

SPINDLE FIXTURE ERROR

Fanuc spindle alarm 595: SPINDLE FIXTURE ERROR. The spindle drive or spindle motor has detected a fault condition that requires diagnosis before spindle operation can resume.

Root Cause Summary

Alarm 595 indicates a spindle orientation or clamping fixture failure. This occurs when the spindle positioning system cannot properly orient or secure the spindle for tool changes, or when position feedback from the orientation sensor is lost or inconsistent.

Safety

  • Verify corrected program or parameters before resuming machining

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

Check spindle orientation sensor gap with feeler gauge - should be 0.5-1.0mm from target. Clean sensor face and target area of coolant, chips, and debris.

  2. 2

With spindle stopped, manually rotate spindle to orientation position and verify sensor LED illuminates. Check sensor wiring for damage or loose connections at sensor and drive.

Ensure machine is in emergency stop before manual rotation

  3. 3

Use multimeter to verify sensor output signal at spindle drive terminals (typically 24VDC). Check parameter 4960 or 4078 for orientation sensor input signal status.

  4. 4

If sensor tests good but alarm persists, check orientation dog or target on spindle for damage, looseness, or improper mounting position. Replace sensor if output is unstable.
