Fanuc 563 - Spindle vibration sensor error
Alarm 563 indicates the spindle vibration monitoring system has detected abnormal vibration levels or a failure in the vibration sensor circuit itself. This can be caused by actual mechanical vibration exceeding threshold parameters, a faulty vibration sensor, or damaged wiring between the sensor and the spindle drive. The system disables spindle operation to prevent catastrophic damage to the spindle motor or bearings.

SPINDLE VIBRATION SENSOR ERROR
Fanuc spindle alarm 563: SPINDLE VIBRATION SENSOR ERROR. The spindle drive or spindle motor has detected a fault condition that requires diagnosis before spindle operation can resume.
Root Cause Summary
Alarm 563 indicates the spindle vibration monitoring system has detected abnormal vibration levels or a failure in the vibration sensor circuit itself. This can be caused by actual mechanical vibration exceeding threshold parameters, a faulty vibration sensor, or damaged wiring between the sensor and the spindle drive. The system disables spindle operation to prevent catastrophic damage to the spindle motor or bearings.
Safety
Causes and Fixes
Power down machine and LOTO. Visually inspect the vibration sensor mounted on the spindle motor housing for physical damage, coolant ingress, or loose mounting.
Ensure machine is properly locked out before accessing spindle motor area.
Check the sensor cable from motor to spindle drive for cuts, pinches, coolant contamination, or loose connections at both the sensor and amplifier ends. Clean and reseat all connectors.
Using a multimeter, measure sensor resistance (typically 1-10 kΩ depending on sensor type) at the amplifier connector with sensor disconnected. Compare to values in spindle drive manual.
If resistance is out of specification or open circuit, replace the vibration sensor. If values are correct, suspect wiring harness or amplifier input circuit and proceed to cause 3.
