Fanuc Alarm 5300 - SET ALL OFFSET DATA AGAIN
Alarm 5300 indicates that offset data (work coordinate systems, tool offsets, or wear offsets) has been lost due to battery failure, memory corruption, or parameter initialization. This typically occurs after battery replacement, PMC/ladder changes, or when parameter #3202 bit 6 (offset memory clear) was inadvertently enabled during power-up.

SYSTEM ALARM 5300
Fanuc alarm 5300: SYSTEM ALARM 5300. This alarm indicates a fault condition detected by the Fanuc control. Refer to the alarm number and name to identify the specific system or function involved.
Root Cause Summary
Alarm 5300 indicates that offset data (work coordinate systems, tool offsets, or wear offsets) has been lost due to battery failure, memory corruption, or parameter initialization. This typically occurs after battery replacement, PMC/ladder changes, or when parameter #3202 bit 6 (offset memory clear) was inadvertently enabled during power-up.
Causes and Fixes
Check battery voltage at DIAGNOSIS > SYSTEM > battery display. Verify voltage is above 3.0VDC. If below 3.0VDC or alarm 'BAT' is present, replace battery (A98L-0031-0025 for 0i/30i/31i/32i series) with CNC power ON.
Never replace battery with power OFF. This guarantees data loss. Always maintain AC power during battery replacement.
After battery replacement or if voltage was low, restore offset data from backup. Navigate to OFFSET/SETTING > OFFSET and load offset data from USB/CF card using READ operation, or manually re-enter all tool offsets and work coordinate systems (G54-G59).
Verify parameter #3202 bit 6 (ORC) is set to 0. If this bit is 1, offset data clears on every power-up. Access via SYSTEM > PARAM > search 3202, check bit 6 = 0.
After restoring offsets, cycle power and verify alarm 5300 does not return. Establish battery backup procedure and offset backup schedule using DATA I/O > BACKUP function to CF/USB media.
