Fanuc 339 - Canned cycle data error
Alarm 339 occurs when a canned cycle (G73, G74, G76, G80-G89, etc.) contains invalid parameter data, missing required values, or logically impossible combinations. The control detects incompatible values such as retract planes below the R-plane, feed rates at zero, or incomplete axis data necessary for the cycle to execute safely.
Fanuc 339 - Canned cycle data error
CANNED CYCLE DATA ERROR
Fanuc PS program alarm 339: CANNED CYCLE DATA ERROR. This alarm is triggered by an illegal or incorrectly formatted command in the part program, or a programming condition that the Fanuc control cannot execute.
Root Cause Summary
Alarm 339 occurs when a canned cycle (G73, G74, G76, G80-G89, etc.) contains invalid parameter data, missing required values, or logically impossible combinations. The control detects incompatible values such as retract planes below the R-plane, feed rates at zero, or incomplete axis data necessary for the cycle to execute safely.
Safety
Causes and Fixes
Identify the block number where the alarm occurred from the control display and locate the corresponding line in the part program.
Verify all required parameters for the specific G-code cycle are present: R (retract plane), Z (depth), F (feedrate), and cycle-specific values like Q (peck depth for G83) or P (dwell time for G82/G89).
Check that F (feedrate) is programmed and greater than zero. Verify Z-depth and R-plane values are logical (Z-depth should be deeper than R-plane in absolute coordinates).
Correct any missing or invalid parameters, re-upload or re-enter the program, reset the alarm, and return to the start of the cycle to re-execute.
