FANUC Alarm 3012 - Data Server Alarm

The data server has detected an error condition. This may relate to file transfer, Ethernet communication, or internal data server memory issues.

Root Cause Summary

Alarm 3012 indicates the Data Server function has encountered an error during file operations, network communication, or memory management. This is typically caused by corrupted files on the CNC, Ethernet communication timeouts, or Data Server software buffer overflow. The alarm often appears during FOCAS/Ethernet operations or when the internal file system is accessed improperly.

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

Power cycle the control completely (wait 30 seconds after shutdown) to clear Data Server buffers and reset the service.

Ensure no programs are running and machine is in a safe state before cycling power

  2. 2

Check parameter 20152 (Data Server buffer size) and increase if set below default value of 256KB. Typical range is 256-512KB depending on application.

Parameter changes require control restart to take effect

  3. 3

Reduce polling frequency or data request size from any connected FOCAS applications, HMIs, or IoT devices communicating with the Data Server.

  4. 4

Disable Data Server function temporarily (parameter 20150 bit 0 = 0) to confirm if alarm clears, then re-enable and monitor for recurrence.
